Weenthunga’s AGM is on Friday 15th November at 5.30pm. We’ll be at Curves Restaurant, Vibe Savoy Hotel, Cnr Spencer and Little Collins Streets – opposite Southern Cross station and close to trams. Weenthunga’s new President Rani Lawler would welcome your attendance. After the brief formalities of the AGM we will have a presentation by Professor Ian Anderson on the issues confronting First Australians whose appearance is not strongly Aboriginal. We are very honoured to have Professor Anderson speak at our AGM. Ian is a such highly regarded leader in Indigenous health – nationally as well as internationally. Professor Anderson is Assistant Vice Chancellor (Indigenous Higher Education Policy) and Director Murrup Barak – Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development. He’ll also speak about the work that Murrup Barak is doing in relation to promoting pathways into University, and into the health sciences. AND just to add to the great evening canapés and beverages will be served!! Given that Ian Anderson’s presentation will be of great interest to many of us in urban Victoria – please invite others who you know might like to join us. Please RSVP with both your name and any invitees to lin@weenthunga.com.au – this will help our catering plans.
